Question One: Why should I become a member of NAHUC?

NAHUC membership offers an opportunity for bench marking, developing leadership skills through participation in chapter/state, regional and national committees, continuing education for job enhancement and discounts for conference and workshop registration.

As a NAHUC member, you receive a NAHUC membership pin, a quarterly newsletter - the Coordinator, a NAHUC Information Book, and discounts for various continuing education activities.


Question Two: How do I do become a member of NAHUC?

Answer: To become a member of NAHUC, simply fill out a membership application and send the membership fee to:

Question Three: Why should I become certified?

Answer:  Pride. Pride in yourself, your work and in your profession. A Certified Health Unit Coordinator (CHUC) has demonstrated by passing the NAHUC certification examination that he or she has the knowledge and skills necessary to function as a health unit coordinator.


Question Four: How do I become certified?

Answer: To become a certified health unit coordinator, you must take and pass the NAHUC certification exam. To remain certified, you must either retake the certification exam every three years or earn 36 NAHUC contact hours in a three year period and complete and submit a recertification application.
