Education Board

The NAHUC Education Board establishes and supports recognized standards of education for primary/initial and secondary/continuing education. The Education Board offers resources for anyone involved in health unit coordinator education: the HUC instructor, the HUC student, the HUC practitioner, the HUC preceptor, an the HUC supervisor.

For the instructor and preceptor we offer an Educator's Forum at the Annual Education Conference. To learn more about the annual education conference, visit the workshop calendar page.  For the HUC practitioner, we offer contact hour opportunities for recertification and personal/professional growth. Just one example is the article and questionnaire in the NAHUC newsletter, "the Coordinator". For supervisors and preceptors, we offer Institutional Providership. Institutional Providership allows a designated educator in your facility to award NAHUC contact hours for educational offerings and inservices.

For anyone interested in establishing or evaluating an HUC Education Program, we publish the HUC Education Program Procedure Guide. It is a comprehensive guide that incorporates the Essentials and Guidelines, the Entry Level Educational Competencies and Job Analysis in an easy-to-use format.
